Tell the assistant what you use AI for and how much you want to spend each month. It builds plans from the prices we observe and works out the monthly average, the yearly total and what is charged each month. You can edit any plan, and every amount links back to its quote.
How the budget is calculated
Quotes come from the same data as our price tables: ChatGPT website and App Store prices, and App Store prices for Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Grok. All amounts are converted to the display currency with one set of exchange rates.
Monthly plans are charged every month. App Store yearly plans are charged once for the year, and their monthly average is the yearly amount ÷ 12. Business and Business 5x are billed per seat: yearly billing shows the per-seat monthly average paid once a year, and the yearly total is that average × 12 × seats.
When a website quote has both a tax-inclusive and a tax-free price, the lower one is used as the reference. A tax-free price excludes tax, and checkout determines any tax due. Quotes without a confirmed billing period are left out of totals.
When a plan rotates by month, monthly charges count only in the chosen months, and the monthly average is the year's actual charges ÷ 12. Items you enter use your amount and billing period: weekly counts 52 charges a year and quarterly counts 4.
The assistant interprets your needs, chooses combinations and explains trade-offs. Every amount is calculated from quotes by the planner itself. If a reply mentions an amount that cannot be traced to a quote, the page says so and the plan cards remain the reference.
FAQ
Will I pay exactly the amounts in the plan?
Not necessarily. Plans use the quotes and exchange rates we have recorded, which makes them useful for comparing and planning. Checkout shows the final amount, which can change with tax, exchange rates, offers and payment method.
If the assistant suggests another region, can I buy there?
Not necessarily. A quote from another region only shows the price recorded there. Whether you can buy depends on your account region, the store's rules and the payment methods it accepts, which you need to check yourself.
Can I use the planner without signing in?
Yes. You can edit the example plan and see the results. Using the assistant and saving or sharing plans require an account.
How many messages can I send?
Signed-in users can send 15 messages a day and Pro users 100. The count resets at midnight Beijing time. Locking, replacing or removing items on a plan card does not count.
Are my conversations stored?
Messages are sent to a third-party AI model provider to generate replies. Conversations and plans are saved to your account, and you can delete them under My budget plans. Conversations with no new messages for 180 days are deleted automatically.
