What to know first
Regional differences can come from local pricing, tax rules, App Store or Google Play pricing, exchange rates, payment costs, and whether a plan is available in that market. A low number is meaningful only when the comparison conditions match.
First make sure you are comparing the same product
Free, Go, Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise plans serve different needs. Web subscriptions, mobile in-app purchases, API usage, and enterprise agreements are also different purchase types. Putting their amounts into one ranking confuses product differences with regional differences.
AISub groups quotes by channel, plan, and billing cycle before showing the original currency and tax label. A regional quote is a traceable reference, not a promise that every account can buy it.
| Condition | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Plan | Plans have different features and allowances |
| Purchase channel | Web and app stores can have different local prices and checkout flows |
| Billing cycle | Monthly and annual prices are not directly comparable |
| Tax basis | Tax-inclusive and tax-exclusive quotes have different comparison bases |
Local pricing and channel costs affect the list price
A provider may set local prices using regional purchasing power, currency, tax, payment, and market rules. Mobile subscriptions also pass through the App Store or Google Play purchase system, so the displayed amount can differ from a web subscription.
The same region can have more than one channel quote. Channel affects tax display, refund path, payment currency, and promotions, so compare within one channel before explaining a cross-channel difference.
- A local-currency price is not always a live exchange-rate conversion of the USD price.
- App-store pricing can reflect channel and local tax display rules.
- Promotions, trials, and new-user eligibility are not permanent list prices.

Tax and exchange rates create a second visible amount
The difference between tax-inclusive and tax-exclusive amounts comes from the tax basis. A tax-exclusive quote only means that tax is not included; it does not mean every account qualifies for an exemption.
Converting a quote to another currency depends on the reference rate and its timestamp. Your card, payment platform, or app store may use a different rate and add fees, so the converted amount is not the final charge.
Reference conversion = original amount ÷ original-currency rate × display-currency rate
Actual payment = checkout amount + applicable tax + possible channel or payment fees

Missing data does not prove that a region cannot buy
A missing regional quote can mean that a plan is not offered, the channel has no public price, a source failed temporarily, or the required exchange rate is missing. Do not fill the gap with a neighboring region or an old rate.
Eligibility can also depend on billing country, account state, payment method, and product terms. Use a comparison page to narrow the options, then use the signed-in official pricing and checkout pages as the final reference.
- Check the original currency and quote update time.
- Match the region, channel, and plan to your own account.
- Recheck tax, refund rules, and the final amount at checkout.

A reusable workflow for regional comparisons
Fix the plan, channel, and cycle first. Record the original amount and tax basis. Convert with one reference-rate snapshot. Mark missing or stale data. Finally open the official checkout page to confirm eligibility and the final amount.
The resulting claim should be “this record has a lower reference price under the same comparison basis,” not “everyone in this region pays less.”
Comparable result = same plan + same channel + same cycle + same tax basis + same rate timestamp

Frequently asked questions
Why can an AI subscription cost different amounts on the web and in an app store?
They are different purchase channels with potentially different local prices, tax display, refund paths, and billing rules. Compare within one channel and verify each checkout separately.

Does a converted USD price equal the amount I will pay locally?
No. Conversion is a reference. The final amount can reflect the payment channel's exchange rate, fees, taxes, and the checkout price at that time.

Does a missing regional price mean the product cannot be purchased there?
Not by itself. The plan may be unavailable, unpublished, or temporarily missing from the source. Use the signed-in official pricing page for the final answer.

Is the lowest regional list price always the best choice?
No. Compare plan benefits, channel restrictions, taxes, refunds, and eligibility. A low number may be annual, tax-exclusive, or tied to a different channel.
